Closing a Chapter at Orange Egypt — With Gratitude

Every professional journey has chapters that shape who we are, what we believe in, and how we approach the future. My time at Orange Egypt was one of those meaningful chapters.

On November 30, 2023, I shared my farewell to Orange Egypt as I prepared to begin a new professional journey. Although I was leaving the company, I was taking with me the experiences, friendships, lessons, and memories that had become part of who I am.

Working within the E-Payments Solutions field gave me the opportunity to apply my knowledge, develop my capabilities, overcome challenges, and contribute to solutions that made a difference. It was a rewarding experience, both professionally and personally.

One of my favourite memories was being nicknamed “Peter Payment Gateway” by my colleagues. It still makes me smile. Apparently, I had become so closely associated with payment systems that my colleagues started treating me like one! 😄

Beyond the technology and daily responsibilities, what I valued most was the people.

I remain grateful to Mohamed Karim Desouky, Ahmed Serafy, and Waleed Hamdy for their leadership, guidance, and support throughout my journey.

A special appreciation goes to Mr. Islam Attia, whose mentorship and encouragement contributed significantly to my professional and personal development. The lessons I learned from him have stayed with me.

I am equally thankful to my colleagues and friends, Eman Mahmoud, Mostafa Emam, Mostafa Emad, Rana Elzahy, Kamal Sherif, Mohamed Moharam, and Mostafa El-Wardany, for the teamwork, support, friendship, and countless moments we shared.

Looking back, I realise that a successful professional experience is not measured only by the projects we deliver or the problems we solve. It is also measured by the relationships we build, the knowledge we exchange, and the positive impact we leave on one another.

Friends and colleagues, outside the office too.

Leaving Orange Egypt was not about leaving my passion or purpose behind. It was about carrying them forward into a new chapter, with new responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities to grow.

Companies may change, roles may evolve, and technologies will continue to advance. But the people who shape our journey and the lessons they teach us remain with us.

Thank you, Orange Egypt, for being an important part of my story.
