King Lear at the National Theatre: A Story That Still Speaks

Last Friday was my second time attending a theatre play, and honestly it left a real mark on me.

Watching King Lear on stage at the National Theatre, performed by the legendary Yehia El-Fakharany, was one of those moments that stays with you long after the curtain falls.

What struck me most wasn’t only the performance itself, but how real the story still feels. Leadership, power, pride, trust and how a single decision, made without wisdom or humility, can change everything. It’s incredible how a story written centuries ago can still reflect what we see today, in life, in leadership, and even in our organizations.

Moments like these remind me that learning doesn’t only happen in meetings, boardrooms, or classrooms. Sometimes, it happens quietly when a story opens your mind, sharpens your empathy, and leaves you thinking a little deeper on the way home.
